IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A QUEEN

Pathway to purpose

The Indigo Foundation (ifRN) mentoring program engages youth and young adults in an individualized and community-based process that facilitates growth towards greater self-sufficiency and successful goal achievement through a guided series of exploration, life skills training, mentoring and futures planning.

The M3 formula

The program is comprised of two overarching components that is designed to holistically empower our young women. The first of these we refer to as The M3 Formula. M3 is an acronym that stands for Mind, Muscle, and Motion. Inside of each of these modules, the participants are engaged through all modes of learning.

  • Mind focuses on mental health and intelligence building.

  • Muscle zeros in on healthy living through selecting the best eating habits and daily active living.

  • Motion promotes the action of giving back and paying it forward in your community through selfless acts of service.

c.m.e.l.

The second is C.M.E.L., which is an acronym that stands for Community, Mentorship, Education, and Leadership. Inside of each of these modules, the participants are guided through a series of activities that will allow them to master those skills that will increase opportunities for financial freedom.

  • Community operates as a conduit building capacity for social change and the advancement of families and community-based organizations working together to develop a sustainable academic and cultural pipeline.

  • Mentorship is designed to instill positive self-esteem and confidence in the young women, as well as building healthy peer & family relationships.

  • Education strengthens the participants ability, through key study and test taking strategies, to excel on the HESI/TEAS exams, and eventually, nurse mastery and licensure.

  • Leadership is the component that provides integrity, relationship-building (or team building), problem-solving, dependability, and the ability to teach and mentor.
