Our Mission

ifRN seeks to create environments that breed economic empowerment for women of color from underserved communities, through a pathway to nursing.

Rooted in professional development, access and opportunity, mental and physical health & wellness, ifRN exposes and prepares mentees for the careers and opportunities of nursing tomorrow, today.

It’s essential for young women to be prepared to attend and graduate from nursing school by creating spaces where instructional conversations and interactive activities stimulate discovery, critical thinking, and collaboration in their communities. Ignite their power as a force for global trans-formation.

Transforming hearts & healthcare

We are an organization who recognizes the color gap in nursing. As of 2017, nurses from minority backgrounds represent 19.2% in the US with only 6.2% African Americans of that population.

Underserved communities in Atlanta are underrepresented in the nursing field. This foundation is here to encourage the youth to pursue a nursing career while empowering them to take charge of their lives and become contributors in their communities.
